Animation

Evaluation

For my animation I was inspired by the works off youtube stick man animation and funny stick man videos. Or the music I went with something joyful and fun, giving the advert the vibe wanted it to have, bringing a smile and laughter to the mix.

Strengths
For what went well with the animation I made sure that I used more than one camera angle, showing different shots and using all the shots cut to the beat, the main editing technique I used. The animation was fluid and maintain good continuity throughout; the objective of the advert never straying away from the story. The drawings in the animation are simple and easy to create, nothing too advanced or skilful.

Weaknesses
For my animation what didn't go well was how sometimes the animation would have cuts of black in, making the music fade out for a second and then suddenly jump back in again. the animation style is simple but too generic and easy. another weakness is the lack of colour, everything being black and white, with only little amounts of green.

Weaknesses "Not drawn properly"
CBBI (Could be better if) Used more sketches to improve drawings.

Task 2

Two Different Animation Techniques

Rotoscoping: When existing footage or photo are drawn over with different colours or different designs. An activity strategy utilised by illustrators to follow over film, outline by outline, when reasonable activity is required

Stop Motion: When an object is moving frame by frame to give the impression the object is moving by itself. an example of this is the very popular Transformers Youtube videos, people will take the toys from transformer and frame by frame take pictures of the toy Transformers transforming.

the video was shot through multiple pictures being played back to back to show as if the Transformers are moving.

Task 1

A kinetoscope is an early exhibition device designed for films to be viewed by the viewers. within the machine an animation could be seen through a peephole viewer window at the top of the device. The Kinetoscope was invented in 1897 on August the 31st by invented by William Kennedy Dickson, a Scottish inventor.

The zoopraxiscope is an early gadget for showing films. Made by photographic pioneer Eadweard Muybridge in 1879, it might be viewed as the main film projector. The zoopraxiscope anticipated pictures from turning glass plates in quick progression to give the impression of movement.

For the animation before it starts a storyboard is created. in the storyboard they draw or sketch certain scenes and get a mental imagine of what the scene will look like.

for films like star wars there are storyboards for when the rebels are going to destroy the death star. some sketched a rough idea of what the scene would like like, showing the camera angle of the scene and how the camera would follow the rebels.the rebels have the ships X-Wings, designed earlyin the process by Joe Johnson and Colin Cantwell. the director being George Lucas.
